Right after Pentecost, we celebrate that the Spirit has come and empowered the church for mission. But before we move forward, we return to Genesis 11–12 to understand what that mission looks like.
In Genesis 11, people build for themselves, trying to make a name apart from God, which leads to confusion and scattering. In Genesis 12, God begins His covenant mission by calling Abraham—not to build for himself, but to be a blessing to all nations.
This series traces that contrast: a life turned inward and a life sent outward. It also helps us see that Pentecost is not an isolated moment, but part of God’s long plan to redeem a scattered world and send His people with purpose.
In Scripture, blessing is not mainly about what we have, but about being brought into God’s presence and purpose. We are blessed beyond—not just to receive, but to be filled and sent for His mission and for His glory.
